Keane are rather good at penning heart-wrenching ballads - 'Bedshaped', 'Allemande' and 'Love Is The End' are three which quickly spring to mind, for instance - yet which would you say is their biggest tearjerker? This is a thread for sharing those special gig moments, when you were there and you felt so caught up in a moment that you never wanted it to end. (Extra special moments-of course Keane are always special!!) For me it was during the UIS tour of the Uk, at the O2 in London. I was just blown away by the opening music, which was 'The Iron Sea'. It was such an epic opening, and I've not seen another gig by any other bands, where I was so emotionally overwhelmed by the sound.

Are there less fans than before?

Does it look like there are less people that like keane now?. Maybe H&F was such a comercial hit just because of Everybody's changing and Somewhere only we know...

I'm stealing this from the Fun & Games 'Question' thread, a question posed by Lonelykeanefan. Malena thought it should have it's own thread too.

My answer...

Saw them the first time at the Tsunami Relief concert at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, 22nd January 2005, never heard of Keane before that. Loads of other greats there too, Manic Street Preachers, Snow Patrol, Heather Small [M People] and my up till then all time favourite artist, Eric Clapton who performed an awesome Blues set with Jools Holland. A truly amazing gig considering it was arranged in only 3 weeks to raise money for the victims of the Asian tsunami on boxing day 2004.

Keane played the 3 biggies from that time, SOWK, EC and Bedshaped, which prompted the obligatory waving of lighters in the air.

Went out and bought H & F soon after that, but only really listened to it properly while travelling by bus to a holiday in Belgium later that year. Totally bowled over by Tom's voice and Tim's awesome talant as a songwriter and musician. The rest is history as they say...................

During the past year, we have often seen Tom Chaplin marching along to several songs as the band performs live.

Recently, I have had the chance to read various comments on Tom's new dancing style. Some people claim that his singing is negatively affected by the fact that he keeps marching along to such tracks as Everybody's Changing and The Lovers Are Losing.

If you do not understand what I am referring to, just watch the video below and attentively observe Chaplin.

In your opinion, does Tom's marching along harm his vocal abilities?

i`m in love with that song very much and i bet keane`s version will make this song even more loveable.

keane always did a very good job in making cover version of any song. just like what they did with Dinner at Eigh, Underpressure, and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road...

Keane band has been around for quite a few years and played a large number of tours.

In which tour did you personally feel that Tim, Tim and Rich were in their best shape?

I believe that the European Tour in 2008, right after the release of Perfect Symmetry, was their best yet. They have never played so well. Chaplin has never sang so well. I really felt he was completely recovered from his alcohol and drug addictions and was healthier than ever before. He came back for this tour much thinner, in excellent physical shape, and full of energy.

For me, never has the band sounded so well as they did in that period between October and November 2008.

Which Keane Song Is Most Likely to Stand the test of Time?

I was just thinkgin about which of the Keane songs will still be played in ten, twenty year's time? My thought is 'Everybody' s Changing' as it's very adaptable and has been covered by Lily Allen and the Prague Philharmonic!! Also, 'Somewhere only we Know'. But I'm not sure about songs from the other two albums-i love all three albums but my instinct was to pick two songs from 'Hopes and Fears' .

Hello Keane people,

I'm Alice (a SUPER MASSIVE KEANE FAN) & I am a gymnast in england :) I am looking for some new music to do my floor routine to, and i thought 'You haven't told me anything' would make a good routine. The only problem is i am trying to find a remix/instrumental that has no vocals on, because you're not allowed vocal music for competitions. The music can only be 1 minute 30 seconds maximum, but i don't know where to look,

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Hello boys and girls!!! how ya doing?? I wanna ask your opinion about Tom Chaplin's voice... I gues he sings very well if we take his words seriously when he said that he never toke any singing lesson or some kind of stuffs like that... But I think seriously that he has not enough level to be called "the best male voice in UK" and even he's been compared too many times with Freddy Mercury, who has a looooooot of level over him.... What do you guys think?? Am I right or wrong... Kisses!!

Out of curiosity, am I the oldest Keane fan at 41? At concerts when I've looked around, Keane fans seem to range from early 20's to 50's, so hopefully, I'm not the oldest. My mum is 70 and she thinks they're fab but then she's always had to listen to Keane whenever she's been in my car as I don't play anything else! so maybe she's the oldest?! Any more 40 somethings out there?
