• Re: Tom's solo thing

How very dreary and boring that new song is.. sounds like he's nicked a bit of the guitar sound from IIAW towards the end though.. it just doesn't seem to have any fire to it, and depth, if you're going to try and write a narrative into a song it has to have some meaning.. its all very pretty.. but utterly lacking in any ...

  • Re: Is the Keane Forum dying?

It does seem to be dying.. I've been checking in every few weeks but there's just nothing here anymore... unless of course you want kitchens...  Only to be expected.  I think Tom is suffering from the "Only get one chance to make a first impression" when it comes to his solo album, if he can't or ...

  • Re: Tom Chaplin's cover of Can you feel the love tonight from The Lion King.

Why does Tom have a *** haircut?  I absolutely can't stop laughing at that video... who convinced him that was a good look?  As for the song he's trying way to hard to be Elton John, including how you'd expect Elton to sing it, he doesn't put his vocal stamp on it, and he's capable of that, see Under ...
I am proud of the U.S. Constitution and our Second Amendment right to bear arms.   Tom seems to misunderstand the USA.
Um.... Yeah I'm really not..  I don't think anybody should have the right to bear arms...  when that law was made America was a very different place, and you ...

  • Re: Tim solo album...??

I remember writing a reply to this a month or so back... um... where is it... To be honest I'd love it if Tom just said "that part of my life is over.." because in some ways it feels like Keane is in a coma, and it might wake up, it might not, in some ways for Tom's solo career to be successful he has to kill Keane, ...

  • Re: Tom's solo thing

I'd like to rebutt your post slightly... 1) The British press generally hate EVERYBODY, if it'll sell a newspaper they'll find some angle to have a go, I've also seen positive reviews in the press, and interviews. 2) So? I believe in ownership of things, Oasis did more drugs than everybody, you shouldn't be apologetic ...
Also, as to why it is so close to the Keane, sound, I imagine it must be very difficult for a musician, and for a singer in particular, to strike out in a completely different direction having spent so long in such a successful band. To pick just one example, both Liam and Noel Gallagher stuck very ...

  • Re: Tom's solo tour..
So many lead singers sing their previosu band songs...McCartney, Sting, mentioned before, Harket from a-ha did it for a couple of years. But recently there were no a-ha songs in his setlists, mainly because he has 6 solo albums to choose from! 4 of them released while in a-ha. And fans stopped asking him ...
