I get to annoy my bf with my obsession.  It's great fun Wink  Especially when I wear my Keane "triangle shirt" (as he calls it) for him.  He despises that shirt, LOL

exactly the reason why i'm here. most of my friends listen to the generic crap, ok i have no qualms over that, but sheesh... i just dont see why is mainstream music is so fascinating for the young nowadays...

No one is interested in my age, and it is completely fine with me. Age is nothing but a number.

I'm nearly 15, but I'm probably one of very few Keane fans at my school. Its a damn shame how 90% of girls my age are into manufactures poppy rubbish, I have noone discuss REAL music with!

Me too! 15 in July Big Smile And it upsets me that hardly anyone our age even knows who Keane are. If I right 'I LOVE KEANE' on my pencil case they're all like 'is Keane your boyfriend'. It's makes me feel slightly more unique though, which is nice. Makes me feel like I'm part of some secret club and everyone else is missing out on something amazing and when Keane get recognised as one of the best British bands ever I can be all like 'I told you so!'.

My thoughts exactly! I've tried to get a couple of my friends to like it but they would rather go back to listening Girls aloud or something! Its a bit of shame, it means I can never go to keane, travis and coldplay etc gigs with my friends :(. But yeh it does make me feel a bit unique - they are definetly missing out!

Those people can't call themselves REAL music fans! Bands/artists like the sugarbabes don't write their own stuff and loads of them can barely sing! Most of the really mainstream stuff that they like sounds good after 1 listen but then it gets boring after hearing it more than 6 times. Keane sounds good at first but the more you listen, the better it gets!

I completely agree with both of you. I'm 18 (and a half) and hardly anyone I know likes Keane...and the few people that do, only like them because I listened to it so much in front of them that they picked up on some of their music... and some others only liked Hopes & Fears and then decided that they didn't really like them after all and went back to other stupid bands like Go:Audio and Scouting for Girls *shudder*

I think it's great that people of every age like Keane...there aren't many bands that can reach out to every generation. I also believe that Keane are too underrated in the younger generations in particular.

Did you want to be....an emoticon?!?!

Re: Age group of Keane fans

Over the years your tastes change and you look back and appreciate the groups you didn't really notice. I'm 55 and have seen Led Zepplin, The Who, Queen and many other bands over the years. I appreciate all styles of music. I just became a Keane fan in 1/09 because I was listening to Lifehouse on you tube and a blogger mentioned liking Keanes version on a cover song. From that moment on I was hooked! I was thrilled to see Keane coming to the USA and knew I had to see them live. I feel privileged to have seen them in my lifetime and believe me, this will NOT be my last Keane concert!!! I was up and dancing on the 2nd mezz around some of the stiffs! Their loss.

My dad is the same way. He does not understand it when someone buys the same artists music that isn't the greatest hits. And here he is playing Yanni! BLEEH!!

I'm 20 and I appear to be the only person in Eureka who knows who Keane are.  Well, besides those who were in my chorus section in high school whom I converted (very easily because they have taste)! >:D

wow...! you're cool! when i hit my 50's i'll still probably listen to contemporary music just like you. its really nice hearing somebody's opinion on music especially if they have experienced lots of genres in their lifetime... i praise you.

my dad also likes led zep, beatles, oasis and lifehouse, and here i am urging him to lend an ear to keane. hope he'll like it just as you do...
