I'd love to meet the 50-80 somethings that are into Keane. :)

    *stands up and WAVES*

I'm 52 and was 3 back from the barrier right in front of Tom at the Island 50 gig, and queued from 1.30pm. I was certainly not the only one down there, must have been at least a dozen or more of us. You see all ages at a Keane show.

Hey you!! *Waves back!*  Woot for barrier girlies! :)

I would love to see more younger ones, ie teens, knowing Keane music. I noticed at the Manchester Arena gig that there was a row of them dancing together and it made me smile so much. My nine year old daughter is a big fan, but none of her friends were remotely interested when she told them. 'Spiralling' is even on 'Now 71' (??) which is a huge compilation series in UK. Yet the kids don't know it was by Keane, they just liked the track. I think they'd buy 'YHTMA'.. Anyway, I'm going to take my 48 year old body into the kitchen and make my husband's lunch...(I'm a piano teacher so don't work in the daytime..). And play some Keane to take me away from the impending rainstorm outside. Ps I also love the 'Night Sky' but that sort of disappeared didn't it???

    Hi!

I'm a young Keane fan! I saw them live when I was 12 (I'm 13 now) and there were some people the same age as me at the o2 in feb.

I've always liked Keane since Hopes and Fears came out. I guess I was brought up listening to good music i.e, Queen, Pink Floyd, Tears For Fears etc..

Great!! You have good taste! Interesting that a lot of the younger ones were dancing to tracks from the 'PS' album at the gig especially. This album has so much energy: they are incredibly uplifting songs.

Getting old isn't a bad thing at all. The older I get, the more I can listen to and know about music. It depends on how you spend your time.

I'm just impressed nowadays young people who are in early teens or even younger can have an access to internet. Times have changed. :(

You're leaving so soon. Never had a chance to bloomWilted Flower Thanks to Rich Rich for Keane siggy!

I know, tell me about it...don't think I was online in my life until I was about thirteen and didn't quite know what to do with it for a few months.  Then I found lots of things to do Smile  To keep this on topic, I'm still 22.

I'm 17- and one of the only Keane fans at my high school. I have a few friends who I have "converted" and a few that I just recently found out listen to Keane ( but only H&F- although I have suggested the other two albums on numerous occasions!)  My mom is in her 50's and she knows every word to every song... I don't know if it's because of me, or if it's because she actually enjoys the music- I'm hoping it's the latter!

This thread makes me smile uncontrollably because it's so nice to see people of all generations brought together. I think that is really the purpose of music- to bring people together and help us better understand each other. (Henry Wadsworth Longsfellow- "Music is the universal language of mankind.".... SO TRUE!!!)

Re: Age group of Keane fans

I´m turning 20 in a couple of weeks... I just love Keane´s music!!

But I wouldn´t really appreciate Keane being popular among teenagers to be honest... Usually they just listen to every mainstream manufactured *** and if Keane were in the Charts next to Britney Spears and the Jonas Brothers... i don´t know. it sounds stupid, but I just don´t like it when people who usually listen to crappy music suddenly listen to Keane... as if it was the same kind of music.

And I just saw what happened to The Killers... I absolutely loved songs like Mr Brightside, Somebody Told Me or When You Were Young... but they have a massive success with an album which didn´t really used to be their style... if someone knows what i mean ;) It just sounds really manufactured and I´m really scared that Keane´s style changes, too, if they become too commercially successful.... hmpf. probably talking a lot of rubbish but that´s how I feel. ;-)

Hahhh, you're still a young-un. There a few of us over 50's around. Anyways, they say you're only old as the man you feel, so does that mean if I get to grope fondle touch Tom at the barrier on the 30th, I can pretend to be 30 again?

    Kaz xx

you'll have to get past me first!!!

psh, no way. he's mine. once its legal of course =]

Let's go to sleep with clearer heads, and hearts too big to fit our beds,

Re: Age group of Keane fans

I'm 18 years old and I've been absolutely addicted to Keane since their gig in October last year in Rotterdam. It was my first concert ever. And eversince then I've been talking about Keane alot, and everybody just thinks I'm crazy. And my mom always says when I'm listening to Keane: Are you still not getting tired of them?

I think it's really fun to see so many different people of different ages enjoying Keane.  Much better than the groupies of the Jonas Brothers etc..Smile (no offense)

I'll be 39 in a couple weeks - yikes!  I think my husband is slightly concerned with my old-lady obsession with a bunch of young guys from England ;-) .
