Re: Age group of Keane fans

Thank god I've found this thread, I was beginning to think it was only me!!!!!!!!!!! I'm 46 and it's thanks to my son that I absolutely love Keane (he bought me PS for Christmas and took me to the Sheffield Arena in February to see them live and now I'm hooked!!! So much so that I convinced my husband to take me to the Island 50 gig, (5 rows back from the barrier and Tim) and then the ultimate he booked a holiday to Canada so that I could see them again in Montreal, (second row back from the barrier and Tim). But the best thing ever was catching the same flight back home to the UK as Tim, Jesse and the crew....

OMG I couldn't believe it when I saw Jesse, he was chatting away to us about the gig (forgot to ask for a photo though), then Tim turned up and I went to pieces. How can a normally responsible person turn into a jibbering wreck (as my husband so kindly pointed out to Tim) I couldn't string a sentence together, I veered between gazing at him with my tongue hanging out (metaphorically speaking of course) to talking rubbish...

Anyway the upshot is I now have some gorgeous photos of Tim with his arm around me. All this happened 5 days ago and I still can't think properly. I'm telling everyone it's the jet lag when I go off into a dream world, if only they knew...........

No you ain`t the oldest fan in town ..I`m a 48 year old Keane maniac and have been since 04 H&F era. Musically they are amazing, un-afraid to meddle with old and new sounds in doing so creating a new vibe with each album...Keep it up guys!!!! For me they`re a modern day PINK FLOYD

I have been on this thread several times as an older person...approaching 49 and still listening to and loving Keane. I really haven't found another band over the last few years I feel so strongly about . Keane are ageless musically-I did a Keane 'jam session' with my friends husband and their fifteen year old son-I am a piano/keyboard player and it struck me as unusual that the generation gap didn't really seem to matter when we shared the music.

Rocking Happy I've been on this Board for four years, and, as Joan Collins says "I never discuss my age". However, if it makes anyone on here feel better about being a "mature" fan, I'm 69!  Keane are ageless, and long may it continue to be so!

Re: Age group of Keane fans

I am 43  and my hubby is who is 60 -found them. Living in the middle of freaking no where middle America(fyi middle is NOT Indiana!) explains it. That and tuning out for years because of rap and hip hop...sorry old school here, 60's 70's 80's is my era. Most of the 90's sucked, I am discovering I missed a bit of the 90's good stuff. Love Keane, wished I lived in UK or Europe...U.S. needs WAY MORE KEANE!!!

You can take the girl out of Iowa but not Iowa out of the girl. Keane is my life..along with Twilight...they work well together!

As you say Diana, I never discuss my age, but if you can do it, so can I! I am 59, but don't feel it all!

Been a fan a long time, but started going to the gigs nearly 3 years ago, and always go for standing, you can't beat the atmosphere down at the front! Mind you I did feel pretty knackered after 5 gigs in a few weeks in Jan/Feb! Have been lucky enough to be on the barrier a few times, and had an 'up close and personal' moment with Tom at Liverpool! Went weak at the knees, at my age too!

i'm in my thirties and admit to being such a music flirt (lol). i am seduced by all kinds of music but i fell for keane just this year as a newbie and it feels good! i've been to a number of rock concerts but haven't been as excited about them as i am with the keane concerts i went to for the first time last month. i mostly go out dancing and clubbing or to a classy jazz club or downtempo martini bar. i am all over the place with music - big band, alt/classic country, musica brasielo, classic rock, folk, motown, j pop/rock, disco, glam, classical, pop, arena rock, soul, britpop, hip-hop (sorry wales! ;-) lol) etc... although my fave genre is electronica (garage, dubstep, deep tech/house, low bmp trance, lounge, nu-disco, ambient, minimal)  keane just happens to be my fave band b/c i found out about them through the tall paul dance remix of 'is it any wonder' that led me to my fave UTIS and confessed grown up fangirlism (lol).
