Ok, so... now I'm back home from my trip to Den Haag! And what a great trip it was, indeed!!
First of all, I have to say
to all the lovely people I had the pleasure to meet there!! You all made the day extra special for me!! I had the time of my life, waiting with you lot, for the gates to open, then waiting for Keane to come on and then singing along and cheering like crazy!! I hope we get the chance to meet again soon!!
Another thank you to everyone, who has already put up pics here! Brilliant! I'm afraid, the few I took, are not as half as good as yours... I just had one quick look at mine so far, might post some later, if I find any decent ones...
The wait for the boys was sooo long, I suffer from a fancy facial sunburn now...
since we had to stand in the sun all afternoon... and I bet I looked quite odd with that orange hat on... but it was all so worth it!!! I have to say, I liked some of the other bands performing too, but the later the evening, the more I just wanted to hear and see a certain band...
We succeeded to get some nice spots at the barrier (my 1st time barrier ever) just before Keane came on, we stood 2nd row all the time before, which is still good, I know, but we are spoiled, ain't we??
The gig itself was, as everyone already said, absolutely amazing!!! The boys were on top form! And I'm not just saying that! They all looked fit and as if they were enjoying it very much too... Tom was pacing up and down the stage (there were some nice ramps (catwalk-ish LOL) at both sides) like a tiger in a cage... always from one side to the other and back.... and I noticed he seems to like those boxes, he uses to stand on sometimes, more and more... they placed several of them around the stage and ramps..... Tim was dancing the night away!! I have rarely seen him so animated... he was sporting some moves, I hadn't seen him doing, so far... and he kept clapping and giving us the thumbs up, after every song... the same goes for Richard!! Jesse had his moment during IIAW... he worked the stage like a kick-a*ss rockstar, but unfortunately he was too fast, so I couldn't take a decent photo of it...
Some more posing please, Mr Quin!!
The setlist could have been... longer (OFC!
) and they could have played more PS songs for my liking! I was missing YHTA and BTT... but since it was a festival set, who am I to complain?? We got the usual suspects, that always work out live... we got YEO acoustic, which was a treat ... aaaand I got to see Under Pressure live (for the 1st time), which was utterly brilliant!!! I was hoping to see it there and I went crazy for it!! My voice is still suffering....
Tbh, I was quite surprised about the - in some parts quite young - Dutch audience (1st gig in Holland for me) .... very lively and cheerful!! Kudos!!!
The boys were clearly amazed by the brilliant reception they got from us!!! *insert cheering for minutes and speechlessness on the hand of the band here*
xx
Edit: How could I forget to mention the 3D glasses action?? It was soo cool!! Would have been even better, if we'd have stood all together... and not that scattered alongside the barrier, but still...! I can't even tell, if the band had noticed it at all, but I leaned
forwards during Spiralling and greeted everyone in the 1st row, with
their glasses on... so much fun!! We have to make that a tradition!!
