    Amy Macdonald

Here's a topic about her, because I do really like what she does ! I went to Scotland for a week, and I listened to her album, This Is The Life, all week long, it is so great !

I love her voice, and her texts, and her music... Really a great songwritter/singer !

I love her. Haven't seen her live yet. My favorite song of hers is probably a wish for something more but I really do love all her songs. Does anyone know if shes recording a second album? (probably too soon)

Then we have the same thing in common Smile  Amy used to go on the Travis forum too, I didn't know she was here too!

Love her songs, saw her live and they were all completely knackered from partying in Bristol the night/morning before, but it was a great show Big Smile

Amy is awesome...check out this cover she recorded. Just in time for your holidays

Amy MacDonald - "Fairytale of New York" (Recorded at The Barrowlands in Glasgow)

The Barrowlands used to be a ballroom where people would come and dance in the 50's and 60's. It still retains the old ballroom floor, which is quite bouncy, and old retro decor so there is a nostalgic feel about the place. it has a large flashing neon sign and now houses a weekend market underneath, selling bric a brac, etc. Bands all around the world love to play this venue, as it has so much character. Even though it fits just under 2000 people every show feels very intimate.

Amy was looking to perform a special Christmas song for her show at "The Barras" (as they are known) and "Fairytale of New York" is very famous in UK. In her opinion, it's probably the "coolest 'non traditional' song there is" so thought she would give it a go. Her voice is reminiscent of the late Kirsty MacColl, so there are some apparent links there as well as her bass player, Jamie sounding quite similar to Shane Mcgowan who sings the original. All in all, it was one of those songs that just worked.

I saw her in Paris on Wednesday. She played mainly songs from the next album which is gonna be released in March.

The show was great. "What Happiness Means" made me cry, it was just her and a piano. Great piece of art. "Don't tell me that it's over" rocks. I have a video of this song (as well as "This is the Life" and "Run") but I'm afraid you only hear me sing XD

    My favourite picture.

    The others are here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=176295&id=1323160331&l=1041703947

I totally fall in love with the supporting act, btw. His name is Jersey Budd and you should chek him out!
