Drumstick!!! I want that too!...
I've been wondering how many boardies got it. XD
Richard gave me his drumsticks after the Portland concert!!! (Sorry for not replying earlier; I was on a little hiatus.)
I had no idea Richard was going to do this. All I remember is that it was the end of the concert, and he and the rest of the guys came toward the front of the stage to wave good-bye to the crowd. Then out of nowhere, he whips out the drumstricks, points them at me, and then gives them to me. It was so SURREAL. I don't even think I visibly reacted (although inside I was absolutely thrilled and numb at the same time, if that's even possible). Here's a picture from Annie of the moment.
Not all boardies get them. Who ever gets Rich's attention usually gets them but he doesn't do it every night.
Hmm... I guess I caught his attention because I was holding this sign up in between most songs. I know he noticed it because he gave me a thumbs up when I waved it around when the crowd sang Happy Birthday. 
When I showed him the sign outside after the gig, he said "I didn't notice the drumkit before". I didn't realize he was smiling when he said this (the bill of his cap covered his face from my vantage point). Special thanks to Simona for capturing this moment and the next one where he's autographing the drumsticks.
As I reflect back on all of this, I can't believe I never actually verbalized "Happy Birthday Richard"! I don't know why I become mute or monosyllabic at these moments. If I ever have the good fortune to meet him again, I have to muster up the courage to chit-chat.
Does anyone else have an "OMG Richard gave me his drumsticks" story?
