I have to agree, it has a Springsteen/Eagles feel to it. I love the vocal harmony in the chorus, very elegant in a way. Very un-British. No offence intended, mind you.

I agree, it's reminiscent of Springsteen -- also, for me, The Smiths and The Beatles.  A gorgeous mash-up, love it.  Interested to hear how different the studio version will be.

Maybe because they wanted to try it out on a small audience to see how it goes?   I think Richard asked about song requests after the Portland gig.  In hindsight, we should have demanded "one of the new tracks!!!"

I like the sound of this song - reminds me of a cross between old Keane and the new acoustic Keane style that they seem to be doing more of and also planning to if what they said in the BTIS interview is right.  I love Keane songs that build up into more and although the lyrics are hard to make out in places, I agree it does sound different from Tim's usual style - could we indeed be finally hearing a Tom penned song from recent times?

I think its brilliant they chose such a small venue to try it out on - lets them try it out in public and in the live setting, but also less pressure if they feel its not right for any reason!
