@Dawn, not me, I mustn't be greedy since I got lucky with the signed PS Tour print. Can't afford it, not if I want to get the PS one framed anyway. Only ordered the CD, though I've probably got all of the old stuff as bootlegs, it'll be good to get them again in good quality.

So your birthday is on the 3rd ? That's cool ! You, at least, you have your gift at time... I'll have to wait a little more than a month to have it !

I'm relieved to see I'm not the only one who is not too excited about it!!
I mean, it's nice to have some new cd with all those songs in one album...but some unreleased material would have been much better!

And well, deluxe, limited edition, t-shirt print , whatever...but 120 pounds is just too much money!!
I'm only getting the cd.

As a new Keane fan(although I knew them in 2004), I think I don't know much about their non-album songs! So I'm quite excited about this album!

And I like listening to demos, where I can get to know directly the feelings that the songwriters want to express, which contains a lot meanings, funs... hopes and fears. XD   Well, b-sides often convey some surprise secretly! I'm often amazed at that.   Looking forward to it arriving at my home. XD

I'm glad to know that amazon also sell the edition. I will never order anything to KM com again. Although not sure about buying this one. They want to sell those songs before free downloading become legal? lol

Is it possible that some of the songs that have been mentioned (like Gingerbread) just don't exist in a proper recording, or have somehow been distroyed?  It's just a thought.  And, I want to say Tim said something a couple years ago about having to sell some of their earliest recordings to buy musical instruments?  Hopes and Fears is still my favorite album of all time and I'll at least be buying the Cd.

^ My thoughts exactly!  Although I don't own the Zoomorphic & most of the Fierce Panda stuff in their professional recordings.  I wish I'd known of Keane before 2005.  I didn't really start following them properly until 2006.  *Sigh*.

I don't know but they just put those existing songs together because it's really easy way to get money from fans without making any proper effort.

I have to agree with Mart on this one..........most long-term fans would already have nearly all these recordings already and i'm also very bemused with the tracks they are offering.....the only reason i can see for releasing this deluxe version is to get these tracks out to the 'new breed' of fans who like them for their last album.................

I do like the fact that they are letting these old songs see the light of day tho, other than that I have to stand by my decision & not crumble in getting the $200000000 deluxe plux edition why can't I be rich??

I'l be getting the 2cd edition eventually. Maybe as a Christmas present to myself.

That's what my mom is doing she is getting it for me as an early "christmas/birthday gift" lol plus that's the best way to think about it...

Like others, I will like getting some of this stuff on a proper CD, too much of what I have is digital only. But It would be nice to get a proper re-release of all the Singles and B-sides that went with H&F. I liked the idea of all that for a 10th anniversary edition. Fun stuff.

lol!!! This made me laugh. :D  "You know you have a musical instrument addiction when..."

But if it's the case, why don't they just come out and end the rumors about them? "Dudes and Dudettes: We are sorry to announce that we cannot give you Gingerbread. The End."  I think it would put a lot of Keane brains to rest.

I'm quite excited about this, the only reason I have the zoomorphic tracks is through Limewire a few years back, it's nice to have them "properly". Call me old fashioned, but especially in view of the current file sharing debate, it's nice to be able to pay a reasonable price for them for them. I would have happily paid for them before had they been available without spending hundreds of pounds on Ebay.

I'm also happy to have a 'proper' version of A Heart To Hold You, which I love, but the recording I have currently has a lot of Jo Whiley waffling before and after it. Also, more Lakey photography is always good - although as it's from the H&F era it might be stuff we've seen before.  

Not bothering to get a t-shirt as a) I already have a H&F era one and b) the womens sizes look rubbish on me. And the uberbundle, well I will admit that takes the mick a bit - hardcore fans only!

I've also just realised that the four last tracks on CD2 are on the live eep that was released in 2005. Possibly you can't get it any more? In that case fair enough, but they've left off the best tracks on the live eep (the live versions of Allemande and Bedshaped) and included the worst one (it's a pretty dodgy rendition of SOWK). I guess this is because they've got single/demo versions of Allemande and Bedshaped .... but I'm not impressed.

Not that I'm not going to buy it of course ... possibly in a year's time when it's in HMV's random 2 for £10 offer.

Just google 'keane hopes and fears 5.1' and you see what I mean.... 

 

 

 

Of course this cd will be another essential keane purchase how could it not be for such a dedicated fan, but I think I have finally learned that I can't have and don't need all of the extras that are on offer these days. The music and the live performances are the most important thing for me now that I have an inexcusable amount of memorabilia. You can't place a value on a perfect performance but you can make a judgement about whether merchandise is value for money.

While I agree with everyone's points re: price, here's my (possibly crazy) reason why I ordered the deluxe package: I love the art print. Love it. I would pay $200 for it alone as a piece of limited screenprint artwork. Keane-related or not. To me, just a bonus that it's signed. As far as the print and paper quality, it appears to be the same materials they used for the Perfect Symmetry world tour poster which I have and am highly impressed by. Anyway, maybe it shows that some people will buy it not simply because it was deemed "super-duper limited."
