Denver, CO @ Paramount Theatre - June 25 - Who's Going to be There?

I'm going to be there - anyone else going?  This will be my first time seeing them live, so I'm very excited!  Will also be seeing them the next night in SLC.  Big Smile

You're so lucky you've been able to see them so many times already!  I have no doubt in my mind that they will be amazing!  My only dissapointment will be the fact that my seat is up on the mezzanine level....so I won't be nearly as close as I would like to be.

They do such an awesome job on a live stage that I don't think it will matter where you are in the theater. You are going to have a good time no matter what!    I was fortunate to get tickets through the pre-sale on this website and ended up with seats in the 3rd row!!!   Yes

I have two extra tickets to the Denver Paramount show, I got through work. Nobody seems to want them...Surprising! If anyone needs two extra I will give away through flashseats, I'll transfer over to your flashseat account. They are ORCH seats, Row T. Just send me a message and first reply I'll transfer over to the person. NOT for sale and electronic tickets, you have to have a flashseat account and use ID when you go into venue.

This was my first time ever seeing Keane live, and I was definitely not disappointed!  I wish it would have never ended and now find myself going through a bit of Keane withdrawal!  When they first came out on stage I couldn't believe it - I was actually looking at Tom, Tim, Richard, and Jesse live - they're real people! My heart was beating a million miles an hour and couldn't help but smile for the entire night. Unfortunately my camera didn't seem to do too well with the low light, so I really only got one good picture of them. Both the new and old songs sounded a thousand times better live than they do on the albums, and the person I went with (who wasn't necessarily a Keane fan before the concert) was very impressed and I'm proud to say that me convincing them to go with me has created a new Keane fan. Tom sounded wonderful but had a few moments in the first few songs where he seemed out of breath, however it wasn't anything extremely noticeable. He later mentioned he was still getting used to the altitude and lack of oxygen in the air which started a funny conversation between him and Tim - Tom said that if he collapsed on stage that Tim would give him mouth to mouth and Tim jokingly responded with a "Will I?" Tom sarcastically said it was good to know that they had his back. We were right in the center of the first row on the balcony, so we had a great view of all four of them and the sound in the theatre was perfect - seemed like the perfect venue for them. Tom seemed to look straight at us quite a bit, so we didn't feel disconnected (haha, get it?) from the concert at all. The crowd was great, but it wasn't until after Somewhere Only We Know that everyone really seemed to get into it even more and not one single person sat down the rest of the night. The crowd could have done a little better with singing along to the songs - the next night in Salt Lake was much louder with the singing than in Denver, but than again, the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake seemed to hold a lot more people than the Paramount in Denver, so I guess you have to expect that the larger crowd would be louder! Kiev, the opening act wasn't too bad, but I have to say that I really struggled with understanding any of the words to their songs - and felt the same way the next night in Salt Lake even though I was much closer to the stage. I wish I could have stayed after to meet them, but couldn't because I had to start my drive to Salt Lake in a few hours and wanted to get some sleep. I also didn't stay to meet them in Salt Lake because the friends I went with had to work the next morning and I was staying at their house and felt it wouldn't be fair to them to wait around forever for them to come out. I was so tired and felt I was a bit unpresentable with my lack of sleep, water, and food anyways, so it was probably for the best...Next time I guess...

Great review!  If you're having some Keane withdrawl I was able to get some great videos from the Denver show (being in the third row).   I've posted them on youtube already.  Just search Keane Denver or my user name JessHam05.  :)   Hope that helps!!!! Big Smile

Thanks for putting up those videos Jess!!  It does help with easing my Keane withdrawl - nothing compares to actually seeing them live, but at least the videos help me relive that night!  It's a shame your camera died on you at the beginning of Crystal Ball - that's always one of their best live songs IMO.  I should have taken video like you did instead of wasting my time trying to take pictures in the dark!!

Do you remember when Tom asked someone if they were alright because they were waving at him in a "strange way" and then he waved back at them while saying hello?  All of us on the balcony thought that was pretty funny and were curious to know what exactly the person was doing....Did you see?  From what I remember and from where you look like you were in your videos it seems like he was looking in your direction...

I already posted this in the Salt Lake thread, but thought it might be good to put it here as well....Here's a link for a few pictures I took during the Denver gig:

The Denver photos are at the end of the photostream.

My pictures from Salt Lake are there as well if you are interested...

I was 2 rows or so ahead of the people waving. There were like 4 people in a row all waving at Tom violently and then he waved back and said hello.

Such a fun concert! It was my first Keane concert (and first in general) and it was magical to me...

Thanks for letting me know what those people were doing!!

It was my first Keane concert as well (hopefully the first of many) and I still can't get over how amazing it was....
