Just felt I had to leave a few words on here, so very saddened by this news. Scott has been around Keane as long as I can remember, it was always exciting seeing him on stage pre gig, doing his thing because it meant the band weren't far behind him....this is so tragic and my thoughts go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace Scott x

Rest in peace Scott. I remember when you working hard, tired, you always find the time for a smile, a hug or wave your arms to the us fans.
I'll never forget your beautiful smile! x

"Really shoked to know Drum Tech Scott Johnson died. I remember  in a Keane gig , at the end when the band was gone, people started to ask him for the bottles of water where the boys drank and Richard’s drumsticks and he gave them. I even took this pic of him. :("

This is so awful. It's difficult to know what to say, other than to add my condolences to everyone else's.

It was hard to fly back to Toronto (my hometown) last night after seeing Keane in Philly - knowing this is the place where Scott ultimately met his death. I could hardly believe the news yesterday when I heard it. He was a fixture on the Keane stage and such a kind guy - taken from this earth way too young. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time..

when you follow a band as much as i follow keane, its inevitable not to look at those guys setting the stage up, tuning the piano, placing the set list, trying the drums... soon you start to know their names, you follow them on twitter for the extra gossip, you might even have an occasional chat, you see them in pictures in the band's blogs, and they become a familiar feature in everything the band do. Scott was certainly not just a crew but a friend for the band and other crew, and a very kind dude to all of us crazy fans. thank you scotty for my drumstick at the 02 arena. for the flowers from richard's drum at union chapel, for all the set lists, for being nice in brum when a friend needed to leave pressies for richard you made sure he got them. and so many other silly things that for us, sometimes, means a lot. Rest in peace. my thoughts with his family, friends and the band :(
"On Wednesday we did a big Radio 2 show... It was one of those occasions when we all felt inexplicably nervous, but i spotted a gang of loyal boardies singing away in the front row, which was a nice boost."

I obviously only knew Scott by sight, but the fact that Richard's drums always sounded perfect was a testament to his skills. It has felt strange this year not to see him on stage before Keane came on.
