Surely DW is one of Britain's biggest and best exports?!  The Beeb do get about you know!

Well, first, I lived in England as a child. Second, most major cities in the US have something called Public Television, which is funded by subscription rather than endless adverts. Because it's funded by subscription, they don't have to cater to the lowest common denominator, which means that Public Television is often quite good. (As opposed to most US t.v., which is absolute rubbish.) Chicago's public t.v. station ran "DW" for years and years, so aside from having watched it in the UK when I was in primary school, I was able to watch it again when I got into high school and on through the Colin Baker years. (I quit watching then; wasn't much of a Colin Baker fan!)

There has always been a small, strangely passionate group of "DW" fans in the US, largely thanks to Public Television. Until fairly recently, though, this group tended to be viewed as somewhat geek-y by those who knew we existed. Now, with the new show and cable t.v. bringing it to everyone, it seems to have become at least moderately fashionable.

Yeah, they have the new series of DW on the Sci Fi channel here in the US and their air about a few days to a week after they're on British TV.  Unfortunantely, I only have basic cable (the major networks, CSPAN, and public access), so I am unable to watch on tele.  But I usually just watch online somewhere then buy the DVDs because I love watching them again.

Your basic cable's better than ours -- we don't even get CSPAN! Our PBS station has syndicated it, though (or whatever PBS stations do that is the equivalent of syndication), so even though it's a season behind, we can now watch it even without SciFi channel. However, like you, we see most of the current ones on-line. (Remember life before the internet? No, I don't really, either. Cool)

It doesn't matter how you spell it -- doctors don't have to spell anything correctly -- their writing is generally illegible anyway.

Let's see . . . my childhood . . . Well, I watched a lot of "Doctor Who" -- do you think that's the cause of my problem? Stick out tongue

Considering that I was 7 when the internet started being widely used, I really don't. haha

Still waiting for Netflix to add Season 4 of DW to their watch instantly selections.  They already have 1-3 but my brother has already seen those (I've seen all of the new series).

No worries there -- my father's a psychologist, and I have a mental illness (completely unrelated to 'Doctor Who'!), successfully controlled for years now thanks to talented psychiatrists, so I'm unlikely to be slagging the medical profession!

it seems we have a lot in common! i apparently have a mental illness too (but i don't believe it because the only witnesses are my supposed friends who are only 11 so what do they know anyway)... my (non-existant) case is definately (according to them) related to DW, or Keane, or being an English geek, or a combination of all 3.

there are some days when i really need to yell at my classmates. which doesn't help my cause much.

i went for an eye test today. boring... Sleep

OMG! Snap! Did you ever have to read notes from your parents to your teachers cause their writing was so awful?! Very embarassing. My friends once said Dad's signature resembled 'Mrs Too' more than 'Mike Lee' LOL.

Frak me, thank GOD!  I'm already looking forward to Easter because well it is EASTER which means the end of Lent, which means we'll have lots of flowers and upbeat music again in Church (much too dull without it), but this makes it only that much sweeter!
