    highflyer:

I just finished Breaking Dawn.  It sucked, just like all the rest.  I'll admit, I liked a couple of parts; those parts being mainly Jacob, but overall the writing is terrible and the storyline is just too damn lovey-dovey!  I can't stand romance!

Anyway.  I'm resuming my re-read of The Deathly Hallows.  HP is much more my style.  I love vampires, but I can't stand the ones that Meyer created.

    Highflyer, you've read my mind.

I also think the twilight series are nothing out of the ordinary, and got very upset when i found up that. I was expecting so much from that book from all the good reviews and the amount of fans the series had, it really was a dissapointment for me. I thought i was crazy 'cause i couldn't feel a thing for the so called romeo Edward. Agh, too much romance for me.

    finished twilight, meh.

started new moon, jacob parts = best of the book (haven't finished it yet)

started braking dawn and bored myself with the romance.

    that's it :)

now i'm re-reading The Catcher In The Rye. such a different mood it feels fresh in some way =)

Excellent...J.D. Salinger is a god of modern writing...any of his books/short stories speed up brain synapse.
I've read Franny & Zooey twelve times, Nine Stories five times and Catcher two times...
but my favorite is Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour...I've read it too many times to count. Geeked

J.D. is the most clever writer that has ever existed!...but a lot of writers try to emulate his brilliant style
so I read anything that reminds me of it... ie. A Heatbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers.
Eggers is a majorly talented author...so clever he makes you jealous.Yes

...oh, and I just finished reading Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris... very funny...I couldn't help laughing out loud.

I think you made your point lol

Now that you say so, I'm interested in reading more of Salinger =)

I'll try to find those books you recommend and give them a try, thanks!

Yay!  I'm so glad someone feels the same way I do!  Everyone one I talk to is obsessed with the books, so I of course have no hope lol.

I'm reading Wicked now.  I love it so far.  Very different from the play, which I love, but still very very good.

TeamKeane- You might want to read "Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict" by Laurie Viera Rigler.  I just finished it and found it amusing.

I have become addicted to Oxford Uni Press's series of Very Short Introductions, currently the one about Philosophy of Science. I'm learning so many new things and concepts that it makes everything I've learnt in science at school seem pretty shallow and dumbed down...
