Hey everybody; I don't really post often in these forums (mostly because I never know what to say) but I wanted to post something here because I can relate to a lot of what people are saying.  I'm 26 and I've been single for the past 2 years; but before that when I was dating my ex boyfriend, I kind of knew the relationship was for show only.  He never loved me and kept telling me so; I'm pretty sure he stayed with me for so long (we dated for a year) because he just felt sorry for me or something.  That's really not what I want; I do hate being single because I'm lonely all the time but...maybe it's better to be single than to be in a loveless relationship. 

 Keane's music has helped me through lonely times too; in fact, their music has even helped me find bright spots in my life as I continue to battle with depression; I really wish I could tell them how much their music means to me because of that.

It's like you took the words from out of my mouth! Keane's music has helped me to see reason when I truly feel the weight of my depression. I also suffer from paranoia and being 18 and never even had a boy look at me even with the slightest bit of interest, sometimes makes me wonder why I bother waking up in the morning. Sounds wierd writing it out, but I see friends with their boyfriends and I just get jealous sometimes. And when they start talking about thier relationships, I feel like a 3 year old 'cos' I have absolutely nothing in terms of a love life.

I am glad that there are people here who, even though I've never met any of you....I feel confident enough to let my feelings out without feeling embarassment or shame. thanks for listening x

I've been single for about 4 months now...it's not that much, but it  was a difficult split because I had been with my ex for almost 5 years!!...I was so used to him, mostly because he works at the same place as me....so it has been quite difficult, and the first month and a half I got this horrible depression....but I SORT OF got  over it after new year's..it was sort of my New Year resolution, to try to move on, concentrating on other things, including travelling, college, friends....and so far I've been doin alright..especially now that I have discover KEANE's music after seeing them live..wow...I love their lyrics, they have helped me quite a lot...

I can somewhat sympathize with you.  I'm seventeen, and the only guys that have ever expressed their feelings towards me have been total creeps, and one of them semi-stalked me for a year.  That makes me feel totally great about myself.....attracting creepy guys, just because I'm nice to them.  But really, from the way things are going, it feels like I'm going to be single forever, and I really don't want that to happen.

Sometimes I feel like I'll be single forever too....but I just think that there is someone out there for me..the right guy....and I just have to wait patiently!

To be honest....I'm too busy and stressed right now to think about things like that. Patience is a virtue as they say!

Hello Jazy !! I'm divorced for almost 5 years , and I like my "freedom" a lot , because my ex husband wasn't such a nice guy !! But at this time of the year I sometimes long for a man , because it's not nice when you're alone at Christmas and New Yearsday for example ! I have my son and my family , but a boyfriend's just different !! Maybe some day I will meet someone .....My love for Keane really helped me so much on lonely moments and I'm so much happier when I met all the other Keane fans on the forum ! All of you and Keane are my lifesavers !!!!

just discovered this thread and like you my ex wasn't nice and am enjoying my freedom,left my husband 3 years ago and divorced 2 years this April hurray!I have 2 children who my ex happily plays mind games with although they don't see this at the moment they think the sun shines out of his bottom.I haven't felt lonely in the last three years and the same as you it's because of Keane and the Keane fans.I lost all my friends through my ex's possessiveness and so i have had to start again with socialising and being me again as well as being mum.Loved Keane since i first heard them back in early 2004 and I went to my first Keane gig at the Ally Pally Oct 2006 when i started divorce proceedings and i was hooked it was like breathing for the very first time.

OMG the Hopes and Fears album summed up my life at the time.'Everybody's changing' came out at the time i found out my then husband was cheating on me and other personal tragedies, 'we might as well be strangers' was how i felt about him and how i wanted something i could rely on 'somewhere only i know'.'this is the last time' was the song to say i'd had enough of his lying and cheating he had done it for the last time. 

Yes, This is the last time is a great song... it's a great way of let come out all the things you said ^^ ... I love thinking about this song when I can't stand something or someone anymore!... well done Sarah!

I've read all your post as usual. I think that this thread can help us as Keane's music do.

I try to be positive about my "love life". Trying to convince myself that there's someone for me on The Earth. I did when I was a teenage.But actually, now that I'm 30, I don't believe a word about the soul mate and so on! I won't be the first one to live her life alone. And for me, it's a certainty. It's as simple as 1+1=2.

Somedays, I'm really depressed, other, really positive and concentrated on my music stuff.

But these days, with the spring, when I see people hand in hand, or those bunch of red roses in the florist shop...you know...it's as I would like to shout: "WHY I'M STILL ALONE!!!!"

In one of my post, I was talking about a guy who already have a girfriend, but send me some sort of "sign".

I was right, I went to him and we had a very interesting discussion and he confessed that he's attracted by me. But he doesn't want to split. !!!SLAP ON MY FACE!!!!

My god! This cover of "These Days" depress me so much!

Hopefully, tomorrow, I will start to fit out my home studio. So, a lot things to do in perspective. WORK! WORK! AND WORK!!!! to forget.

Don't worry about it, I think most girls attract some really creepy guys (I used to have this sort of stalker at an old job).

I'm sort of single right now. I don't know I've been out with this guy a couple of times, and we chat on msn and text but I don't know if we are more like friends or more. Is frustrating not knowing haha And today this other guy that I have a few classes with asked me if we could have a coffee sometime this week ugh I hope he meant as friends because I don't like him that way ugh I hate dealing with this kind of things. (sorry I just had to vent)

mmm... it has happened to me too, some guy that you doesn't like comes to you and the one who you're in love with has a girlfriend or don't even knows you live in this planet... I'm the specialist about it... trust me...

Octavie: I know I'm a teenager, but... sometimes, as you say, when it's spring and you see all the couples around you... I start to think and all my friends or class mates has boyfriends or girlfriends and I'm the only one who couldn't find someone that I truly love and he loves me back... I know I don't have to want a boyfriend just 'cause other girls have one, but... you know, it's strange 'cause there're so many guys in this planet and I couldn't find a decent one yet!!... what does the other girls do to find her boyfriends? there's a website where you can buy one?

Keane was a huge part of my life a few years ago. I was never popular and I was always the victim of someones cruel joke to hurt my feelings. I thought I would always be alone and that I would never be loved. I never had any friends. I was eventually diagnosed with depression.

Listening to Keane made me think about the good things to come and things I wanted to do. I overcame my fears and illness. Now im completing my final high school studies, majoring in music & chem, planning a round-the-world trip, saving up for a new house and have a lovely boyfriend [thats already graduated from school] with whom Im celebrating my one year with shortly :]

High school is the most crucial point in a childs life because its the turning point - child > adolescent > adult

Any people in high school, please dont drum your head about being alone and seeing other young couples.

Throughout school, only one couple will stay together, the rest just fall apart.

Stick to your studies, enjoy and be proud of getting great marks. Once you become a top business woman or whatever you want to achieve,

then search for love. I believe everyone has a soulmate, but although we may be ready, our other half isnt. it takes time

it depends, how old are you... I just went out with a boy for something around 2 weeks and that's it... nothing more... but I'm just 16...

haha i'm 15 so its not really that bad. but absolutely all of my friends have had at least one boyfriend for at least one day :P
