Y'Know What Really Grinds My Gears.....?
Figured we could use a thread to vent!
My gripe today is schools not having enough room for all of their teachers. Last year, one of the two schools I teach at decided to turn my choir room into a spare computer lab, so I have what are essentially countertops around the perimeter of my room with computers on them. Well today, my first day back from summer, I found out that I have a roomie. The Algebra remediation teacher is now going to be sharing my room. We both teach at both of the middle schools in the county and we'll be at each school on opposite days so we won't be in the room at the same time, but now not only do I have the counters and computers, plus four risers, my piano, and a ton of chairs, I now have a large teacher's desk in my room which is in the spot where I stacked all my chairs. And I've got a lot of kids signed up to do chorus this year; we're going to be crammed in even tighter in that room now than last year. Plus my room is the hot spot anyway; since it's used as a computer lab classes go in there frequently to use the computers, which got real fun last year when right near spring concert time I was kicked out of my room for a week and a half for SOL testing, and then the strings program uses my room after school, along with other random stuff that goes on when I'm not there. So anyhoo between that, having to get up hella early to go back to work, beginning of the school year stress and then not being able to access the new board at work (which is a whole 'nother story) I was not in a very happy mood earlier today.....

Haha, I understand that drama. My mom had to share a classroom last year too (she teachers special day class at high school). And she has so much teacher junk and old baby books she stores in here (why, I don't know). The other teacher taught for 30-something years and never left this room. Let me tell you, last summer I was so pissed off trying to figure out how to creativly stuff things around and in and up. NIGHTMARE! This year now that the teacher left, we are going through all the stuff and spreading it out now that she gets the room all to herself. Easier, but still kind of a nightmare.

People who seem to think its dead funny to insult you when you walk past them in the street and they don't even know you. Or should that be brain dead morons rather than people?

Re: Y'Know What Really Grinds My Gears.....?
This week I dealt with: 1. 2 people who can't make up their minds, my mother including. 2. a person who is such a big baby and I am so ashamed to call him my dad 3. another one who's given a way out of a problem but who's kinda reluctant to take the risk (although she said she's up for anything, at the end... after I persuaded her) 4. another person who just make things worse although she claimed that she's trying to help 5. another person who thinks he knows everything and won't listen to the suggestions I gave him 6. another person who acts like he's the only one who is busy helping other people Great. I have 1 person to screw up each day of the week. I'm soooooooo lucky.

Well, where I used to be, there were seven teachers sharing desks and one computer in a small room while "traveling" to different classrooms throughout the day. It was hell! I left that school and took a job working in another "classroom" but this "classroom" had a maximum occupancy of 13! Grrrr argh!!! Then every one I know lost their jobs teaching this Summer. 16,000 teacher layoffs in my county alone. That's why I'm glad I'm working for myself again - teaching guitar and doing metaphysical stuff like Reiki!
Anyway, what brought me here in the first place is that I HATE PAYPAL!!!!!!!! Confirm THIS you rotten tw*t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Y'Know What Really Grinds My Gears.....?
My past two schools (my last and the one I attend now) have similar problems - not so much that there are too many students, but that the classrooms are too small and scattered all over the place - and a lot of teachers share them, even if they teach completely different subjects. Some of the lower ability students are just put into mobile classrooms, which are in bad condition and aren't going to be changed any time in the near future. It doesn't have emoticons that fit anything I want to say - there isn't even a laugh! They could easily replace them, and even if they couldn't use the old emotes that could commission some, or ask permission from a DeviantART user like this person. I don't like these ones, even on Messenger- they're just ugly. :/

Seriously.
Yesterday, I was trying to check out of the clothing store. This guy waved me over and said, "Come on down!" He was a guest and kept waving for me to move forward. I stepped up and waited for him and his friends to be done. He kept waving, tipping his hat and being SO annoying! I don't even know what he looked like. I just remember he was wearing a hat..But my mom and sister said I had the meanest look on my face. I REALLY wasn't in the mood. He eventually noticed my pissed-off attitude and said, "alright."
I am usually not a mean person, but for some reason...I just couldn't help, but show how upset I was. Maybe if he was cute I would have been a lil nicer..hehehe
And THEN! I keep getting this irritating guy through my line--this is like the 4th time I've checked him out. He sat his stuff behind the woman in front of him. She had a ton of items, and I was talking with her, so I called my coworker over to help him. He said, "No! I want this line!" I said, "Sorry Sir, wasn't sure if you wanted to wait."
UGHHH!! I was secretly trying to get rid of him, but still..the woman had many items.
Later, my coworkers told me he turned down another open line as well as the coworker I called over. And then, he ALWAYS wants a price change. WTH?! Once he came through I said, "Hello, how are you today?" He said nothing. I rang his stuff..no CRAP up and said, "Have a nice day." He grabbed his things and left. I feel like he's purposefully being rude to me. I just want to turn off my light and say, "NO! You're not going to come through my line and be rude." Of coures, I can't do that.
I wish I had a bat too..

Re: Y'Know What Really Grinds My Gears.....?
People who think just because I'm young I'm naive, careless, and stupid. Today I was at the bank and the twenty-six year old (which is young too!) who helped me was very condescending on every level. He acted like he was so much better than me on every level just because his parents did it before mine. And he said he had the choice of working full time with no help at all for school, or working part time with school completely paid for by his parents. And he chose to do the full time job thing. And you're lecturing me about being wise with your money? "Oh yeah you're 18, finally an adult, you're all cool and tough now huh?" Oh my god I wanted to stab my pen in his eye. Stop jumping to conclusions about me, you little twit. I'm legal, but I'm not an adult by any means (and judging from the way you are acting, NEITHER ARE YOU).
And thank you veyr much, I know what a debit card is, I can manage money (way better than my mom, even she admits that), and no shit a credit card isn't free money. Just open my account and go to hell. ¬¬

Re: Y'Know What Really Grinds My Gears.....?
My boss, just lately she never speaks to me, or at least she barely speaks to me more than 10 words in a week. I have also noticed that if I try to start a conversation with her she looks at me like 'what the hell are you doing?' and either starts to talk to someone else or walks away from me. She will have abit of a shock on her hands when she finds out I'm on my way out, and after all these years of always relying on me to do the work properly, she'll not see me for dust after!

- people who sit at their desks and chat and let the phone ring and ring and expect me to pick it up, without asking, just because I am the admin. And when I DO pick up the phone, I have to lie about where they are because they don't want to take the call. Grow A Pair!
- blocks of flats with no individual postboxes outside or even a communal one in the door. I'm trying to post the damn electoral roll forms, it's not junk mail, and I only get paid for the ones I can deliver! And I can't buzz the building manager outside work hours (I'm working during work hours!) as they are off site and I am not Royal Mail. Grrr...
