i was at nottingham and i have to say it was brilliant as always i hope everyone gets their tickets as it would be a shame to miss it, my only dissapointment was i brought a program and left it in the loo at the end of the night, by the time i remembered we were on our way home i just hope someone found it and they enjoy it,

Increasing absentmindedness is one huge shortcoming of advancing years, isn't it? I'm always glad to see older faces at gigs. Once I was thrilled to see someone who was seriously old enough to be my granny. And I won't be seeing 40 again in this lifetime.

Well in a couple of months I'll be 31, some days I feel it and some I don't!

Hi to everyone, I'm not that good at keeping up to date with what everyone's doing but I wish everyone well.  I have just been offered a flat (I still live at home having been on the waiting list forever it seems) I don't get the keys to look at it til the end of the month but I know where it is and it looks good from the outside so fingers crossed.

Just two days to go til Sheffield on Friday and the wait is driving me demented.......

Re: Over 30......and enjoying every minute of it!!!!!

    Hi All!

Well, I am still speechless (sort of!) but I thought I'd wait until I had a clear head! Hope Jenny agrees with me on this little review! I know you lot all like the gossip too..

We got to Nottingham at about the same time as the band, 1.30 ish. We thought we had it sussedas nobody appeared to be in the q, then this lady came and told us that others were queuing outside! No surprises then to find Anna and Nickya (complete with many layers and thermals!) and about 10 others, all freezing their butts off! We had lunch and Jen rejoined the q. We were sitting, so took it in turns to stand with Jen, get coffee, go to loo etc! Yes it was cold, but it went quite fast. Seats not bad at all, 10 rows up right near the B stage. Zoe (10) was so excited watching everyone file in. Frankmusik passable, but a bit 'bassy'..ears and chest thumping! Others around me were obviously fans..nobody sat with arms crossed, scowling. But I got a bit carried away, and felt sometimes like saying..'Sorry, but I'm usually down there with my mates!' 'cos we could see the 'faithful' at the front with Holland scarf, glosticks etc. I wanted to be THERE!!! Gig was GREAT! I would just love to go to a gig and not cry..this time they sang 'Sunshine' and I just blubbed!! (at UC it was 'YDSM' that had me!) 'Try Again', 'Snowed Under', 'Black Burning Heart'...Brilliant! Crowd response to 'BTT' not as good as 'BBH'...mistake maybe as a single???

Afterwards, we met the Faithful outside in the snow. About 20 of us probably. It wasn't long before Rich and Jesse joined us.. Charming men as always! They had a laugh, signed everything, chatted...great boys!Jesse told me about hopefully going to Oz very soon! Rich was SO lovely to Zoe.We told him it was her 1st ever gig. She showed him her Leicester CIty top, and he spoke to her as if she was the most important fan ever! She'd made a poster and they signed that too. Then Tim...he is so laid back, almost horizontal! Same as before...everything signed etc. Tony wasn't sure about Tom coming out as his mum and dad were there, but a couple of mins later, out he came! Now we know Tom isn't completely at ease with meeting us, and it was cold...but he was great!! He said he'd sign everything 1st then get pics. He spoke to people. He explained that they were going to France, and even when Tony told him about going, he said 'no..I'll just get this done'. I was amazed as he'd had an excuse to go, but stayed with us a bit longer! Another fan had asked for a cuddle as it was cold, so when he signed Jen's things, she asked for one too..he agreed and so she went for it! Lots of pics followed..it was a bit of free for all, but everyone was so good natured.Tom even apologised when i got my pic with Tomkitten 'I think I've got my eyes closed, sorry!' he said! Then when we were all happy, he said bye and went off to the coach! Yes our feet were like blocks of ice...but we met all 4 band members, and I can't remember that happening for a while...well not for me! Got back to the car and couldn't believe that we'd seen them all in the space of 45 mins! And I got a pic of me and Tim (Didn't think of getting one with tom..just so happy that he was there and I was still standing!!!)

Hope that fulfills all your wishes for a gossipy review! I've put my pics on facebook 'cos its SO much easier than on here! Have a good gig if you are going to one..they are sounding on top form!!

Fab review. Know what you mean about wishing you were at the front with the faithful, and I'm so decrepit I have to have a seat pretty much always. Can't stand long enough for a full gig, never mind queue all day, but in spirit I am there hugging the barrier with the Queens of Keane.

Thanks for posting your 'back door'reviews!  So glad to hear that Tom Kitten enjoyed the show - start them young!

Yup Heather - aluminium foil is the way to go!  We don't normally get it in the gold tint though!

We may be sodding off to Facebook, Trace, but glad to still come on here too.  I definitely agree about the ease of picture posting - I never have been able to work it out on here.

Oh Shaz, I'm soooo jealous. I was really grateful to my husband for agreeing to come with me to Nottingham and stand too. There's no way on earth I could ever ask him to wait behind so I could meet the band. I shall dream on. Glad you had a fab time - it was amazing wasn't it?

Not just me then, Gill. My husband usually calls time after the gig as we have long drives home. Can't complain too much as he does the driving and I have my own private Keane-and-wine party.

Re: Over 30......and enjoying every minute of it!!!!!

That's just the half of it Dawn. If he knew what was going on in my head whilst watching Tom strut around I'm sure he'd soon tell me to walk home (in the snow or otherwise). That's why fantasies should stay just that.. Wouldn't want hubbie to think I was just using him for a gig- buddy (or in my case a gigi-buddy and chauffeur. Anyone else having a snow day?  I cant get into work (aawww!) and it's my daughter's 18th birthday today. School is closed and her friends are all here. We have a snowman and 6 inches of snow, and one of Katie's male friends is apparently trudging with a birthday cake from the next village. How cool is that!  Of course, I'm not old enough to have a child of 18.......(and 19....). Happy snow day everyone!!  I may be posting a lot today as I am trapped in the spare room to give Katie some space.

Gigix ps the cake and the friend have just arrived!

Snow day here too, which for me means my 14-year-old son will be chucking me off here soon for 'research'. Must send them both outside soon to top up the snowman.

My husband is only too aware of the nature of my fantasies, I'm afraid. This may be the real reason he doesn't want to hang around after gigs.

Re: Over 30......and enjoying every minute of it!!!!!

Fantastic reviews Trace + Shaz, thankyou for sharing them with us + im so glad you had such a brilliant time.

I eventually got my tickets this morning, what a nightmare. Trinity have been great, the post man tried to deliver them to the wrong address (even though my address is on the envelope perfectly) which meant i had to turn detective + track them down, which is usually quite easy, but it took ages to find the phone number of the office that was holding my tickets, + when i found it on line it was closed, so i spent a very long night not even knowing if they had them, then i had to walk in the snow for 2 + a half hours to collect them, bloody hellAngryNow im worried that it will be cancelled due to most of the country being buried in a blanket of snow, everybody knows that us brits are rubbish when it snows. But on the up side my seats are right near the stage on the lower levelCool Kim, if i do still feel the same after the gig, you can give me first slapStick out tongue

Sorry for the essay, my sons school has just sent all the pupils home, so it looks like i'll be making a snow man this afternoonWink

    Hugs...Mandy XX

So glad you got your tix Mands!! That does sound like a nightmare! From what I've heard about the gigs, there will be no need for slapping but thanks for giving me first dibs.Wink

Happy birthday to your daughter Gigi! My daughter turned 12 yesterday and I can't believe my "baby" is that old!

My kids have missed so much school due to snow that they have to make up extra days at the end of the year. But they did go to school today. Hooray! Any other boardies kids in the same situation?

Oh Mands - two hour hike for tickets?  Top of the class for enthusiasm!  Have a fab time tomorrow.

Happy birthday all littlies (and not-quite-so-littlies)!

My part of East Anglia has had virtually no snow at all.  My daughter was thrilled that there was enough in my mum's huge garden to roll up a quite large ball - not enough for a head though!  My son is so pooped that his school only shut for the end of the day on Monday - open again on Tuesday.   I think they only shut on Monday as they thought they were going to be left out!

    Hello,

Have only just finished hyperventilating over comments about Keane coming to Australia. Please let it be true! Thanks to Mands and Shaz  for review although I have gorged on pics from facebook from sharon and sarah. Lucky buggers. It sounds like very nasty weather there in the UK. It is pouring with rain here, will need snorkel and fins to get out tomorrow, It means that probably wont have to sit thru 5 hrs of under 13 cricket tomorrow. Gosh, what a disappointment.
