Re: Over 30......and enjoying every minute of it!!!!!

Good Evening Busty and anyone not at the Sheffield gig. Nerissa that sounds like great news, if Keane come out your way -just give them back afterwards! Thanks everyone for the happy birthdays for Katie. She had a really nice day and we spent the evening in harmony - her on her new laptop (for Uni in Sept) and me on the older family laptop continually asking her how to tweak my banner and photos. Why do teenagers just know how to do stuff? Had a nasty shock when I rushed over to her to show her my banner masterpiece as the had the damn webcam on and the cake-boy was peering back at me.

Hope those of you from abroad aren't too sick of us British discussing the weather, which apparently other nationalities dont do. Imagine that. But as I've brought the subject up, I think I'll need ice chains on my tyres if our road gets any worse. The slush is all groved and my little corsa is all over the place. I took a broom out with me today rather than a shovel, as I  was in heels for work and didn't want to go to the shed to get the shovel as the snow would have been over my shoes. Not sure quite what I would have done with the broom if I had got stuck thou, brush myself out of danger perhaps? Play a little curling?

    Anyone on the board tonight?

    Gigi

    Me SmileGood evening¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

I hope all of you who are going to see Keane in Sheffield, could go due to bad weather. We were waiting your pics and reviews.

A friend of mine, couldn't arrive on time to Sheffield, her flight was delayed for the very bad weather in UK, she felt devastated this morning Crying. Well at least she managed to go to Liverpool gig.

I've just arrived from my son's birthday party too CakeCake(he is 10) He has enjoyed it very much with his friends, playing in a laser battle, do you know what I mean?....http://www.laserbattle.net/

all of them ended completely exhausted and  but really happy.

The weather in Spain are really cold, snowy and rainy too. I'm going to visit my parent's house tomorrow, 150 km away from Bilbao, I hope we have no problems on the road.

    Have a nice weekend ¡¡¡¡¡¡

Haha Gigi - thats a funny picture!  You in a snow drift with heels and a garden broom!  According to the 10 o'clock BBC news, there is no road salt left, so you could add a cruet set to your car, just in case!

Have a safe trip tomorrow Carmen.  My son wanted to go tubing (sliding down a ski slope on a huge tractor inner tyre) for his birthday at the end of February, but they are fully booked until April (!) so his second choice is laser battle (we call it Qazar here).  I have about as much enthusiasm for this as Nerissa does with the prospect of under 13's cricket!

Going to London tomorrow for very late Chinese New Year celebrations.  If the trains are dodgy I will be really cross - I can't think of anything less fun than being stranded anywhere in the snow (without heels, a broom or salt and pepper)!

    Have a great weekend everybody.

Re: Over 30......and enjoying every minute of it!!!!!

Hi there! I'm not at Sheffield either, but for some strange reason, I really wish I was there! All the tour dates are written on my calendar, and each day I've been saying 'They'll be in .....tonight!', and just forget about it. But I've been wishing all day that I could've got there tonight. I hope they have all had a brilliant evening, and that Mands especially comes on here ASAP to tell us that she's found the 'Keane love' all over again!

It's still snowing here in Leics. This week has been odd, don't you think? I sort of feel that life is on hold...hardly any schools open, closing the shop early, not doing any washing 'cos it just keeps coming! (No school =lots of snowball fights and 'snowangels' being made=lots of grubby, wet clothes!) Apparently we are getting more on Sunday! Hope everyone stays safe!

Lisa you have got me worried now...my daughter wants to do something similar for her birthday and we haven't booked either! And her birthday is during Helf term!!! Guess where I'm going to go right now..............

Get in here Mands and give us the goods!! I hope your drive wasn't too dangerous.

Shaz-are you going to any other gigs? Sorry if you've answered that before. My envy clouds my memory.....Wink

Im back in every sense of the word;) but you might still want to slap me Kim....i forgot to take my cameraIndifferent im so mad with myself.

But, OMG what a fantastic gig, we rocked all night + when they played Disco 2000 the roof almost blew off the arena. The band had so much energy + Jesse was just one of the guys taking himself off down to the B stage + jamming all on his ownCool They played a fantastic mix from all 3 allbums allong with snowed under + early winter...wow what a treat.

My niece came with me + she had such a blast, she's not going to be a die hard fan, but shes been converted. I didnt stay behind to get autographs or anything tho, we went for a glass of wine (over priced £8.40 for 2 glasses) managed to get a taxi + called off for supper on the way home, i forgot to eat all day yeaterday, i was so excitedStick out tongue But my niece Linzi wants to come with me next time + who knows, we may even get autographs:)

So, walking in the snow was so worth it, i'd do it all again if i had to.

Belated birthday + birthday wishes to all your kiddies/teens. Danny has been to the Quazar a few times now + he loves it, Abi still likes play huts, you know...the big slides/swings/climbing walls ect. Kim you brave thing, i'll be thinking about you + telepathically sending you strengthWink

Gigi, what a sight you would have been thats so funny.

Oops have to go, my computer wants to close:(

Re: Over 30......and enjoying every minute of it!!!!!

    Hey all,

Am totally knackered & full of a cold after queuing in the freezing cold both last week for Manchester and yesterday for Liverpool - not that I got there too early unlike the die-hard boardies that are Anna1976, ShelleyA, ebbistar (remembered you this time!), Nickya, Gaby, Scousebird and many many more.  I turn up relatively late by their standards! LOL.

Managed to get front row tho right in front of tims keyboard and was 'moshing' all night next to the wonderful clarab & lindyJ and it was another fab night.  They tweaked the set list a bit and played two/three songs different from Manchester but they had liverpool up on their feet and rocking!

At the end of the night was very surprised to find myself the proud owner of a setlist, which I manage

d to get signed by Jesse and Richard - they were the only two who came out but were both lovely and chatty and very accomodating to the man signatures and pics they were asked to do.  Was lovely to meet them again and was pleased that Richard seemed to remember the 'organic columbian coffee' I gave him outside the UC last November!

Only had a 30 min drive home so not too bad, but was never more pleased to get my bed socks and pj's on and warm up again!

Mands, glad you enjoyed sheffield - they all came out apparently and Tom was even giving out the hugs, so I'm told! Why does he never do that at the gigs I happen to go to???!!! Sob, sob.  Never mind, I shall count myself lucky for what I have got as I know that many of you on here very rarely, if at all, get to see them.

Anyway, Ian, I did try to keep an eye out for you. What time did you get there? and where were you once inside the arena???

Anyway, am off to nurse my cold and get ready for work!!!!

Hope to catch up again soon,

    Trace x Big Smile

Saw the die-hard boardies waiting at Liverpool around 2pm, but was in the middle of statutory marital dispute so didn't go straight over. Next time I went past, they had all disappeared, so just went off for food and retail therapy. Had a seat amongst a fantastic crowd for the gig. Home at 3am.  One of these days they will play a gig near my home and I can hang around for signatures.

Thanks to the fabulous Liyana. Avi by Malena. Equally fab.

    Hiya!

Well said Trace, couldnt have put it better myself.  For those of you who dont know me my name is Linda and I have been a member of the forum for a while but am more of a lurker these days, checking out mainly the Tom thread for the eye candy and the News thread for any important happenings I might have missed.  But my good friend Trace has persuaded me to come on here and make my presence felt.  So a big Hello to everyone!

As you have gathered, I was at the Liverpool gig at the weekend, a fab night indeed.  Trace has said it all, but could I also just add that she and her hubby were the most excellent hosts to myself and my hubby, showing us the great delights of Manchester and Liverpool, both of which we have never seen before, so thank you Trace and Ray for a wonderful weekend that we will never forget!!

My only disappointement was that Tom didnt come out after Liverpool, but Trace and I seem to have the knack of choosing the wrong ones!!  However, I did manage to give the band some cookies with their pictures on, which were gratefully received.  I was informed by Richard that he had taken a photo of them and Andy told me that Tom had put them in his wardrobe case!!  Good enough for me!!

Anyway, hopefully you will be hearing more from me in the future, will give someone else a turn now.

Pleased to meet you all, speak soon,

    Linda

Hi Linda - welcome here!!!  Hope you post often!!   Do you have any pics of your TTR cookies, would love to see them!!

Trace - glad you enjoyed your gigs and hope your cold is better!!  You may of not got a hug from Tom, but at least you got a kiss at UC!!! Wink

Did anyone listen online to the LA radio gig Tom did?  I listened to a little bit of it, he was so cute!   I didn't really want to listen to the music, just wanted Tom to keep talking!!! Stick out tongue

Where are some of the regulars?  Janel? Heather? Lovebuns? Charlie? (sorry if I've forgotten someone!)  I know Kerry is busy with gigs!  Hope she has some good stories to tell us when she gets back! Big Smile

I'm still on a high about Sheffield and mega excited about London on Thursday too now, can't believe it's only two days away, I'm quite near the back (seated) on the lower level, I'm finding I can't concentrate on much else....

There's an idea Lisa!  I'm fed up with creeping like an old woman from the car to the office because our carpark hasn't cleared at all, just waiting to go a over tit. Maybe a little seasoning would help.

Carmen, Happy Birthday to your 10 year old. Having girls, I never experience the laser parties, but I quite fancy it myself, or paint-balling - just generally something where I can strike Starsky and Hutch type poses and shoot people. It must be such good fun. Boys get all the best things.

Glad to hear the gigs are still going well. The trouble is with going to gigs is that you get it BAD for weeks afterwards. Do you know what I mean or do I need to spell it out? (adopts a mooney expression.....sighs....).

I take it Nerissa will be ok with all the dreadful fires, as I believe she had floods, so must be in Queensland? The news is terrible from Aus at the moment. It sure is a country of extremes.

    Take care all

    Happy Tuesday everybody!

I saw somewhere that Nerissa is well away from the fires, so she's OK on that front.  Isn't the footage absolutely dreadful?  Even worse when you hear that 30% of them are started (or restarted) by arsonists.  Australians being Australians have given them a nickname - firebugs ........ waaaaaaaay too cute!

On the other end of the scale, our miniscule amount of snow has disappeared.  We went to London on the train on Saturday and were really shocked to track the snow's progress.  It didn't even start until about two miles out of Cambridge, coming from Norwich!  A real shocker.  I wanted to buy some snow chains and crampons, but looks like I won't need to buy any now!

I know exactly what you mean about 'gig withdrawal symptoms'.  I'll just work on the jealousy thing!

Hello Linda and welcome to the elderly section!  Nice cookies - if a little voodoo!  I'm not surprised that somebody somewhere reads this thread - we do actually have 'conversations' here!

Heck - do you think they're on stage right now?

We've booked my son's birthday at the Quasar place - my daughter has decided that she and her friend would like to go to.  Oh my crikey - look out!

Hi Mands - no worries about forgetting your camera.  You only have to compete with Kerry anyway!

But my good friend Trace has persuaded me to come on here and make my presence felt.

Yay! Finally all my nagging has paid off!!! Wink

And huge big YAY! for getting your cookies in Richards photo blog - I can just picture the big cheesy smile that must be on your mush now! LOL. So pleased that they have been mentioned/shown as I know you spent quite a bit of money on them (for cookies, it was alot anyway) and you went to so much effort to make sure they got them (big up to the security fella you left them with, he promised he'd pass them on, so he kept his word).

Anyway, to all those boardies off to the o2 gigs, have a fan-flipping-tastic time.  I have to sit these gigs out (shouldn't be too greedy tho as have just gone to two in as many weeks) as it is husbys birthday on Valentines day so we are off to London tomorrow to make a few days of it and I have lots of treats in store for him - just a shame I couldn't have bought tickets for o2 and made out they were for his birthday! LOL.  Never mind - hope those who do go, enjoy - and make sure there are plenty of reviews and pics.

Oh, by the way, if I haven't said (and I don't think I have on here) but second go of fertility treatment was not successful - so hopefully it will be third time lucky, but we are taking a break and having a couple of months before we go for the last try.  Anyway, c'est la vie and all that, but thankyou to everyone for your well wishes & support (group hug! LOL).

Hope the weather is not too bad for all you lovely boardie ladies (and gents) and that everyone has a good week.

    hugs, Trace x Big Smile

P.S. Lind - don't be a stranger on here, you've taken the plunge and stopped lurking now, so stay around. And thank you so much for the lovely mention the weekend you had with us, you are welcome anytime and can't wait to do it again. x
