Re: Over 30......and enjoying every minute of it!!!!!

     Hi All,

I don't know if you saw my posts in the other Over 30's thread, but I never felt like I could come into this thread because I felt like I wasn't doing well. But, after I read what I wrote in there, I am doing well. I knew I was doing well, but it wasn't until I saw it in writing that I really felt it. So, if you'd like to know more about me, you can see what I wrote in there. But, it's ok if you don't.

I'd really rather just talk about positive things. It doesn't make me feel better to talk about how hard my life is, etc.

So, Charlie Farlie, you're doing exercise and dieting?

    I'm doing the same.

I am doing a program called Slim in 6. It's a 6 week program where you can lose a lot of weight. So far, in 3 weeks, I've lost 6 pounds. I'd like to get into the mid 180's lbs. I haven't been there in over a year.

I'm not expecting to drop so much this month. It's about finding balance now.

But I will say this, when I follow the flat belly diet religiously, I do really well. Basically, you eat four 400 calorie meals and in addition to each meal, you eat a Monounsaturated Fat or MUFA. Such as olives and nuts.

I really like it, but I keep veering off into comfort foods.

I'm ready to get back onto the horse again though. And I've been doing the workouts six days a week with the seventh day being a recovery day. I really feel good after working out.

Would you guys be interested in hearing about my weight loss?

Any way, I was thinking of checking in once a week with my weight loss status. It will keep me accountable.

And I'm interested in hearing how other people are doing too. We can support each other.Smile

I'll be watching for updates. My own excuse for not dieting is that Mr D connives at my fatness by preferring curvier ladies. Even when I was thin, he was waiting for me to fatten up.

Thanks to the fabulous Liyana. Avi by Malena. Equally fab.

Good luck Charlie! And all that alone time sounds glorious.

You should try "Slim in 6" then. Or better yet, check for the infomercial for it. You get a really great deal, plus you get the Slim Series which is the follow up.

I'm so glad you guys want to hear about my weight loss. I think it's really going to happen this time. A couple of years ago, I lost 30 pounds. 6 months after I lost it, it started creeping back up and then because of the medication I was on, I gained it all back. Now, luckily, I don't have medication that makes me gain weight. But it is still hard to get off.

I'm really happy though. I've been working out as much as I'm supposed too and I feel really great after I do it.

Do all diet and exercise programmes come with codenames? Confused Good luck to all grafters!

We're looking forward to having a Christmas at home in England in the cold.  Hurrah!  As my car has blown up and doesn't look like being mended this side of £1,000, I've officially cancelled Christmas presents for all other than children!  I'm looking forward to two walnuts and an orange to unwrap!  However, I will of course buy myself the Deluxe H&F!

Kim, I hope your son had a great birthday.  16 seems so young to be driving, but its only a year younger than in the UK.  Another milestone that's just a number until your own children approach it!

I know that seems impossible! I'm still working on Halloween.

Nicholas had a great Birthday Lisa. Thanks for asking.

I'm probably going to wait until after the Holidays to start any kind of diet regimen. It's so hard this time of year! I don't know how you guys do it.

Ooooh, Halloween!  Felix says that he wants to dress up as a banana?!?!  Not sure this is the scariest thing I can think of, or how much yellow foam its going to take to create!  The best costume suggestion I've heard so far this year is Emily's paper shredder - anybody have any good ideas?

No ideas at all I'm afraid.

I'm just using an old mask for a party next weekend. I hate them but hey, it's cheap.

One year I went as a laundry basket. That was easy.

Re: Over 30......and enjoying every minute of it!!!!!

Hello everyone. I'll listen to anyone's diet updates, although it makes me feel even worse about my own failings in that dept. Instead of coming home and doing an exercise dvd I came home and ate 2 aeros. But well done to all with will power and determination. Bottle some up and send it to me please!

I also 'apprecitate' the photos of Tom in a suit. Rather nice! I took Tom off my screen saver last weekend in favour of a picture of my husband and I in New York a the top of the Rockerfeller Centre, but then I dreamed vividly about Tom that night. I made the mistake of telling my husband this and his look was priceless. Guess some things are best kept to oneself - or blurted out on here...

Glad you're enjoying some peace and quiet Charlie. I'm waiting for my girls to come home this weekend from Uni and shatter my peace. It's just too quiet and tidy.

What does everyone think about the politics creeping onto the board, ie the pro amnesty international message and Richard's much publicised campaign about Troy/ general anti death penalty stance?  It's very emotive.  Personally I dont think it has any place on the board. What do you think?

    Love Gillx

Hi Gill - telling your husband he has been usurped by a younger man in a suit is priceless!  Two Aeros without being ill is somewhat of an achievement too - well done you!

I think that the board is as good a place as any to discuss political issues.  It may be emotive and I wouldn't personally post on them, specifically regarding Amnesty International, but I understand that people do want to discuss them.  Following Richard's first comments regarding Troy, I read all the literature I could find on the subject and have formed my own opinions.  I don't feel the need to discuss them though!

On a lighter note - Kim?  Laundry bin?  Haha!

And aero means air, so that means zero calories like air, right?  I'd like 4 bars, please.
