Re: Perfect Symmetry Fans Cover Album 2009

I vote for Perfect Asymmetry or Imperfect Symmetry! Either one would be nice... Wink

I learned about this contest at the Portuguese Forum and I got so excited with the idea of trying out! But then I came here and got really sad by knowing that we cannot use the original track... That's because I don't have a band and it'd be the very first time that I'd do something like this. Singing is one of my hobbies (something I do just for fun when I'm at home, I use Audacity a lot), but I don't play any instruments nor have a band. I really thought it would be possible to take the vocals off and record over... Sad

In my case, how could I make it happen? Would it be possible to use an instrumental cover version that has been made by someone else, for example, one of the many that can be found on YouTube (giving the proper credits)?

Thanks in advance... I'm really anxious and willing to participate (I had already even set up an appointment with a local recording studio, but I thought I'd be able to use the original track without the vocals when I called them). I look forward to some help...Smile

    Best wishes from Brazil...

You could definatly team up with someone who can make an instrumental track and then you can record you voice for it.

Im sure someone would be willing to help you with this.

You could use the youtube vid as long as the person who created it has given you permission to use it and of course they would be credited on the cover.

If you have any other questions you can email me at keaneshine@gmail.com

Please Derek, cover BBH... I've already seen your work and it's wonderful.

I'd love it if you were the one in charge of that particular song cause It's beautiful and I'm sure you'd do a great work

Yes, my sister used to play guitar in a band and she knows a lot of people involved with music... I'll be speaking with her about this possibility.

Many thanks for your help, Derek. I'll email you if I have any other questions...

I wish I could do this, only I would need the piano scores for these songs. I would also need a good voice, since mine isn't worth ***.

Hope it doesn't sound stupid, Embarrassed but how about simply: "Almost Perfect Symmetry". This is what comes to my mind, when thinking about covers....

    Imperfect Symmetry

It depends on what timezone you live in. The deadline is not based on a single timezone, but your own.

I will be putting the last two cover albums up on Keaneshine soon.

I wanted to participate (i began to make a BBH cover), but i won't be ready for the deadline... And i have to pass exams until June... Sorry lol. However, if the deadline is reported to end of June i can try to do something (maybe another cover than BBH, cause it seems that you're a lot on it ^^).

It seems this project isn't very successful... It's too bad :/ I hope the future "Imperfect Symmetry" (or esle) will work guys !

Wow, this is awesome news!! icon_joy I was feeling kind of sad for not having had enough time to prepare another song, so now hopefully I'll find some time now! Looking forward to the new date...

I was just wondering... would it be possible to know which songs have been covered so far and how many of each? Or, more specifically, how many people have covered Love Is The End, which is my case? Big Smile
